After a long hike back up the west coast to San Francisco I flew out to New York last Monday, played a gig in Brooklyn with my girl Ex Ex Ex, attended a killer wedding and then hopped down the coast to Philadelphia, where most of my family is from.
Next and last stop of tour is PhysEd 202 with my boys James Nasty and Mathias at DC’s Rock and Roll Hotel tomorrow night, Thursday August 23.
Hanging with friends Gun$ Garcia and Dirty South Joe in Philly, I had the fortunate opportunity to DJ fave record label party Mad Decent Monday at The M Room along with guests P.O.L.Style & Nargiz from Tokyo and another resident Gianni Lee. This gig popped off and I had one of my favorite sets in a long time, running through favorite playlists and tracks I listen to myself on a regular basis. I was asked to record the 45 minute set but didn’t so figured I’d at least post the tracklist so you know what I’m rocking out to on my headphones these days.
Really excited to put a similar mix together when I return to SF. In the meantime, peep the tracks after the jump.
A couple dates into tour and I’m having a blast, visiting with friends, exploring LA first, then all over Orange County and this evening headed to San Diego. Tonight I’ll be spinning alongside SD’s DJ Joemama for Lookout Weekend at highly recommended El Camino in Little Italy. It will be a night full of sweet disco house and beach sounds, tasty food and drinks and more quality friend time.
Hit the jump to check out albums and mixes I’m listening to while cruising around SoCal. If you have any suggestions for what I should be listening to other than these, holler on the Twitter.
Inspired by friends, family and fans (that #tripleFlife), I am embarking on my first official US tour this month. Catch me in a city near you and if not, holler for bookings.

There’s been so much I could have written about like my trip to DJ in Portland in February, DJing in New York in April and covering Coachella for SF Station but the best way to follow all of that is to keep up on the Twitter or my newish Facebook fan page.
Every Thursday you can catch me DJing in the Marina at Comet Club and I play all kinds of gigs on other nights so just stay up with the social media or holler and I’ll let you know what’s on the schedule and where you can find the tunes.
This mix is a bunch of tunes I’ve been digging through the winter and into spring. Lots of chill house, soul and that RnB vibe. Perfect for a long drive, sitting back sippin cocktails or to woo you awake on a Sunday morning. Enjoy.
Stream the mix here. Download the mp3 here.
Tracklist after the jump.
Just when you think you’ve worked a crazy busy weekend and won’t have another like that for a while, the next one works you just as hard.
Last weekend marked the St. Patrick’s Day and NCAA March Madness weekend party extravaganza. I started spinning tunes on Thursday as part of my normal Comet Club gig in the Marina (catch me there every Thursday from 10:30pm on) and Friday opened for DJ Vin Sol at Milk Bar in the Haight.
Saturday brought the true madness and when I arrived at Comet Club around 4pm to play a daytime set, the line to get in was already down the block. I kicked it into high gear and played hip hop bangers and dance hits for four hours in the midst of the green-colored craziness. The staff was hella appreciative and even ended up breaking numerous records during the time I was DJing, pretty good for an over 100 year old bar. They wanted me to stay past my cut off time of 8pm but it was time to head to the next gig at Danny Coyles.
The only way to DJ a proper Irish pub on a Saturday St. Patrick’s Day is to do it three doors down from your house and that is what I did. No hellacious cab experience at the end of that night for me, we just carried the equipment over, set up fast and I was blasting Irish tunes and other rock music by 9pm. The crowd definitely loved the vibe and the bar stayed packed past the time I unplugged around 1:45am. The staff was happy and I was glad to have successfully rocked it out at two bars on that crazy party day for a total of over 9 hours of DJing.
Fast forward to this weekend and we’re doing it big again. Thursday starts early at the Lomography Gallery Store in Union Square where SF Station is helping present Get Hungry! – an event bringing together food and photography. I will be providing the tunes and have been told to play whatever I’d like so expect indie pop and rock with favorites sprinkled in. There’s also a chance to win some free meals with this Foodie IQ quiz, guessing local SF restaurants by clues and photos of dishes. I could only get two myself but I’m sure others know a lot more than that. After that I’m in a cab and off to spin tunes at Comet Club for the typical Thursday night routine till 2am.
This Saturday I’m headed to Sonoma where I’ll be working with Dreamers & Heroes Weddings and Events as well as the Sonoma Valley Visitor’s Bureau on their Girlfriends Getaway Weekend 2012. I will be joined by Uzette from Alice 97.3 at The Collection Studio for a party featuring wine, food and great music. Get tickets to one event or the whole weekend, really looking forward to working with some of Sonoma’s best.
Some big events, pretty psyched. Catch you out on the dancefloor or holler at me for bookings at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’ll be dropping a new mix soon with NY fashion blog Grungy Gentleman so keep an eye out for that!
I did a lot of writing in 2011, the most fun of it being interviews of artists. All well researched, over the phone or in person and transcribed and edited by me. It was a busy year.
My only non-Pulse interview was in March 2011 when I talked to a timid Ellie Goulding just before SXSW and her blowing up in the states. Pretty sure after those first gigs she stayed in America touring for a few months. That interview can be read here.
Out of about a dozen Pulse writers, I produced four of the top ten posts of the year, including the highest – my Tommy Lee interview. All posts including all interviews can be found on pulse.sfstation.com.
